The cherry wood handrail is simple in design yet warm and elegant in texture. The stairs are remarkably solid--no creaking when one walks! The Society has a fine collection of quilts from the 18th and 19th centuries. Many came from area families. There are two furnished bedrooms at the top of the stairs opening off of the upstairs landing.
